A Letter from the Artist
When I started out doing makeup it was just something fun to do. I had been coloring all my life and makeup was just an extension of that…until one day when the understanding of what I was really doing with makeup sunk in.
Long story short, there was a young girl who wanted her makeup done like mine. She was a quiet girl who didn’t say much. After I finished her eyes, she looked in the mirror and began to smile. Her mother explained to me that her father had recently passed away. Her reaction to the makeup I had done was the happiest her mom had seen her in months. The mother thanked me and then gave me a HUGE hug. I was sad for her loss but grateful that I was able to make her feel good…even for a moment.
I was amazed! How could something as small as eye shadow have that kind of effect on someone? At that very second, I began to realize the sheer magnitude and power of my profession. I am able to help you step out of whatever you are going through, even for a moment, and see the true beauty God has given you. It feels so magical! More »
